How to login to SFTP

The file manager is great for editing config files quickly, uploading a small number of plugins, and uploading compressed zips of files that you can later decompress in the file manager. Though, it doesn't support directly uploading uncompressed folders and has an upload limit of 1GB.

In order to upload more than 1GB of data and also upload uncompressed folders, you will need to access the SFTP server. Doing so is quite simple, but maybe confusing the first time you need to access it.

NOTE: You will need to install an SFTP client such as FileZilla or WinSCP. The process is similar on all SFTP clients; we will be using WinSCP in this tutorial.
Under the configuration tab on the left side of the console, press the SFTP Settings button. The menu will look like this and is numbered/labeled below:

This is the hostname of the SFTP server
This is the port of the SFTP server
This is the username for your server

These credentials will let you connect to the SFTP server with any SFTP client. As stated earlier, we will be using WinSCP. The image below shows what the details look like after being entered into the session window:

From here, all you need to do is press the login button at the bottom which will prompt for a password. The password is your VersatileNode account password.

If you've changed your password, please open a ticket with us so we can force a password sync and get you back in to SFTP via your desired client.

Once logged in, you'll be able to view, edit, and upload files to your Minecraft server.

As always, if you're struggling to login or access the panel please do not hesitate to contact us via a discord ticket or a standard ticket
